Number of female passengers at station A = (1/2) of Number of male passengers at station A 

Number of male passengers who left the train at next station = 10

Number of female passengers who boarded the train at next station = 5

At the next station, number of male passengers = number of female passengers

Calculation:

Let the number of male and female passengers on the local train at station A be 2x and x respectively.

According to the question,

Number of female passengers at the next station = Number of male passengers at the next station

⇒ x + 5 = 2x - 10

⇒ 2x - x = 15

⇒ x = 15

So, The number of passengers that entered the local train at station A

⇒ Number of male passengers + Number of female passengers

⇒ 2x + x

⇒ 3x

⇒ 3 × 15

⇒ 45 

∴ The number of passengers that entered the local train at station A is 45.
