∵ Total cost price of all the AC’s is Rs. 5 Lakhs and the shopkeeper earns 12.5% profit

∴ Total amount collected by the shopkeeper by selling the AC’s = 5 × 1.125 = 5.625 Lakhs

Suppose the marked prices of 2-ton and 1-ton AC’s are ‘x’ and ‘y’;

∴ x × 0.8 × 8 + y × 0.75 × 12 = 562500

⇒ 6.4x + 9y = 562500

Given that marked price of a 1-ton AC that is y = Rs. 34500;

⇒ 6.4x + 9 × 34500 = 562500

⇒ 6.4x = 562500 – 310500 = 252000

⇒ x = 39375

∴ Selling price of a 2-ton AC = 39375 × 0.8 = Rs. 31500
