Another train starts from B, 2 hours later than the train from A, and moves towards A at an average speed of 50 km/hr. When will the two trains cross each other after A starts journey? Correct Answer 10 hours
Given:
The distance between two stations A and B is 1000 km
A train starts from A and moves towards B at an average speed of 60 km/hr
2 hours later
Another train starts from B moves towards A at an average speed of 50 km/hr
Formula Used:
Distance = Speed × Time
Calculation:
Let the two trains will meet each other after be x hours
According to the problem,
⇒ 60x + 50(x – 2) = 1000
⇒ 110x – 100 = 1000
⇒ x = 10
∴ The two trains will cross each other after 10 hours after A starts journey.
