Ramesh, Suresh and their father are partners in a business. Ramesh receive 60% of profit and the remaining profit is shared between Suresh and his father equally. Ramesh income is increased by Rs. 240 when the profit rises from 6% to 10%, then find the income earned by Suresh? Correct Answer Rs. 2000

Given:

The income increases by Rs. 240 when the profit rises from 6% to 10%.

⇒ 4% of income of Ramesh = Rs. 240

⇒ Total income of Ramesh = (240 × 100)/4 = Rs. 6000

Now, Total profit of Ramesh = 60% of the total profit earned by all three

⇒ 60% of the total profit = Rs. 6000

⇒ Total Profit = (100 × 6000)/60 = 10000

As the remaining profit is distributed between Suresh and their father, Suresh will receive 20% of the profit.

⇒ Profit earned by Suresh = 20% of 10000

∴ Profit earned by Suresh = (20/100) × 10000 = Rs. 2000
