In a company, the salary of 40% of the workers is Rs. 14000 and that of the remaining workers is Rs. 12000, out of which 65% are male workers. If the number of female workers, whose salary is Rs. 12000, is 840, then find the total amount of salary received by all the workers taken together? Correct Answer Rs. 5.12 Crore

Suppose the total number of workers in the company = x

The number of workers, whose salary is Rs. 14000 = x × 40/100 = 2x/5

The number of workers, whose salary is Rs. 12000 = x × 60/100 = 3x/5

The number of female workers, whose salary is Rs. 12000 = (3x/5) × 35/100

According to the question ∶

(3x/5) × 35/100 = 840

21x/100 = 840

x = 4000

So, the total amount of salary received by all the workers together

4000 × (40/100) × 14000 + 4000 × (60/100) × 12000

22400000 + 28800000 = Rs. 5.12 Crore

The correct answer is option 2.
