In a company, which worked 6 days a week, the total amount paid to the workers for two consecutive weeks was Rs. 3000 and Rs. 3060. If 10 male and 8 female members worked in the first week and 12 male and 6 female members worked in the second week, find the amount paid to each of the male and female workers respectively.

Correct Answer Rs. 30, Rs. 25

Given:

The total amount paid in week 1 and in week 2 is Rs. 3000 and Rs. 3060.

The total worker in week 1,

Male = 10, Female = 8

The total workers in week 2,

Male = 12, Female = 6

Calculation:

In 6 days the total amount is paid Rs. 3000

⇒ 6 days = Rs. 3000

⇒ 1 day = Rs. 500

According to question,

⇒ 10M + 8F = 500

⇒ 5M + 4F = 250      ----(1)

In 6 days the total amount is paid Rs. 3060.

⇒ 6 days = Rs. 3060

⇒ 1 day = Rs. 510

Again, according to the question,

⇒ 12M + 6F = 510

⇒ 2M + F = 85      ----(2)

Equation (2) multiplied by 4 and subtract the equation by (1)

⇒ 8M + 4F - 5M - 4F = 340 - 250

⇒ 3M = 90

⇒ M = 30

From equation (2),

⇒ 60 + F = 85

⇒ F = 25

∴ The amount paid to each of the male and female workers is Rs. 30 and Rs. 25 respectively.
