Given:
Let the breadth of the room be x
The perimeter of the floor of the room = 200 m
Height of the room = 10 m
Formula:
Area of the 4 wall of the room = 2 × (l + b) × height
Where l = length, b = breadth
Calculation:
Perimeter of the floor = 200 m
⇒ 2 × (l + b) = 200 m
Area of the 4 wall of the room = 200 × 10 = 2000 m2
Cost of the whitewashing per m2 = Rs. 20
Total cost of the whitewashing = Rs. 20 × 2000 = Rs. 40000
∴ Cost of the whitewashing on the 4 walls of the room is Rs. 40000
