  • Their orientation is towards discovery learning (active) rather than reception (passive) learning.
  • Good teachers help their students to internalize human values such as openness, honesty, selflessness, and altruism and to realize their potential and contribute to social good.
  • They advocate humanistic education.
  • According to Rogers, the qualities of a teacher who wants to use a learner-centred approach are: "her ability to be trusting and sincere, prizing the learner as a separate individual having worth in his/her own right and has the sensitivity and empathetic understanding with the students".  

In brief, a good teacher is a keystone of the arch of national education. Teachers are the backbone of the nation. No nation can think of progress without the efforts of its teachers.
