A supplies 30 workers who work for 10 hours a day for 8 days, B supplies 20 workers who work for 7 hours a day for 10 days, and C supplies 12 workers who work for 8 hours a day for 6 days to do a certain job. If Rs. 8,752 is paid to all the workers, what is B's share?

A supplies 30 workers who work for 10 hours a day for 8 days, B supplies 20 workers who work for 7 hours a day for 10 days, and C supplies 12 workers who work for 8 hours a day for 6 days to do a certain job. If Rs. 8,752 is paid to all the workers, what is B's share? Correct Answer Rs. 2,800

Concept used:

Unitary Method

Calculation:

According to the question:

Worker hours supplied by A = 30 × 10 × 8

Worker hours supplied by B = 20 × 7 × 10

Worker hours supplied by C = 12 × 8 × 6

Now, Ratio of their shares = (30 × 10 × 8) : (20 × 7 × 10) : (12 × 8 × 6)

⇒ 300 : 175 : 72

Let A's share be 300x

B's share be 175x

C's share be 72x

Total paid to all the workers = (300x + 175x + 72x)

⇒ 8752 = 547x

⇒ x = 8752 /547 = 16

B's share = 175x = 175 × 16 = Rs. 2,800

∴ The share of B is Rs. 2,800.
