Epitaxial growth of graphene is a highly advantageous method for graphene synthesis. This is because it produces high quality graphene on large scale. Moreover it is possible to control the thickness of layers by regulating various parameters. But there are few limitations to this process. First it requires very high temperature for production. Second, problems arise in growing uniform multilayer graphene in ultra-high vacuum. Finally lattice mismatch leads to various defects.
