Kiran's present age is 7/4 of her age at the time of engagement.

The present age of Kiran's mother = (15/7) × The present age of Kiran

 

ASSUMPTION :

Let the present age of Kiran be x

Then Kiran’s age at the time of engagement = x – 12

 

CALCULATION :

According to question,

⇒ x = (x – 12) × 7/4

⇒ 4x = 7x – 84

⇒ 3x = 84

⇒ x = 28

The present age of Kiran = x = 28 years

The present age of Kiran's mother = (15/7) × 28 = 60 years

Kiran’s mother's age (in years) at the time of her engagement = 60 – 12 = 48 years
