The price of 12 toy cars is equal to the price of 20 toy bikes. If 60 toy cars and 50 toy bikes cost Rs. 18000, then what is the price of toy car?

The price of 12 toy cars is equal to the price of 20 toy bikes. If 60 toy cars and 50 toy bikes cost Rs. 18000, then what is the price of toy car? Correct Answer Rs. 200

Let, price of a toy car be Rs. x

Let, price of a toy bike be Rs y

According to the question,

12x = 20y

⇒ y = 3x/5       ----(i)

Also, 60x + 50y = 18000

⇒ 6x + 5y = 1800      ----(ii)

From (i) and (ii) we get,

6x + 5 × 3x/5 = 1800

⇒ 6x + 3x = 1800

⇒ x = 1800/9 = 200

∴ Price of toy car = Rs. 200
