Find the share of Sehwag, if at the end of 2018, the total profit earned by them is $2,75,000? Correct Answer $97307

GIVEN :

Dravid started his business with a capital of $20,000 in 2016 and he invested additional 20% of his initial capital in 2017

Sehwag joined him with a capital of $20,000. In 2018 both has invested an additional amount of 30% of their initial capital

Ganguly joined them with a capital of $10,000.

Total profit earned by them is $2,75,000

FORMULA USED :

Profit = Investment x Time

CALCULATION :

Dravid’s capital = 20000 × 12 + 20000 × 1.20 × 12 + (24000 + 6000) × 12

Sehwag’s capital = 20000 × 12 + 26000 × 12

Ganguly’s capital = 10000 × 12

Dravid ∶ Sehwag ∶ Ganguly = (240 + 288 + 360) ∶ (240 + 312) ∶ 120

= 888 ∶ 552 ∶ 120 = 37 ∶ 23 ∶ 5

∴ Sehwag’s share = 23/65 × 275000 = $97307.69 ≈ $97307
