In Delhi - NCR, out of the total metro card users, 12% live in Noida, 9% live in Ghaziabad, x% live in Gurugram and rest live in Delhi. The ratio of number of male and female metro card users which are residents of Noida is 6 ∶ 5. Find the value of x, if there are 22500 female users of the metro card in Noida and Delhi has 222750 more users than Ghaziabad. Correct Answer 16%

Suppose total number of metro card users in Delhi - NCR is ‘a’;

12% of the users live in Noida and ratio of number of males and females metro card users which are residents of Noida is 6 ∶ 5;

Since there are 22500 female users of metro card in Noida;

∴ a × 0.12 × 5/11 = 22500

⇒ 0.12a = 49500

⇒ a = 412500

Since Delhi has 222750 more user than Ghaziabad;

∴ Total number of metro card users in Delhi = 0.09 × 412500 + 222750

⇒ 37125 + 222750 = 259875

∴ Percentage of users in Delhi = × 100 = 63%

∴ x = 100 – 63 – 9 – 12 = 16%
