A, B and C work together. The ratio of the work done by A and B together and the work done by C is 11 : 3, and the ratio of work done by B and C together and work done by A is 1: 1. Which of the three workers is the most skilful?

A, B and C work together. The ratio of the work done by A and B together and the work done by C is 11 : 3, and the ratio of work done by B and C together and work done by A is 1: 1. Which of the three workers is the most skilful? Correct Answer A

Given:

Ratio of work done, (A + B) : C = 11 : 3

Ratio of work done, (B + C) : A = 1 : 1

Formula:

Total work = Efficiency × Time taken

Calculation:

3A + 3B = 11C      ----(i)

Also, B + C = A      ----(ii)

Now put the value A in equation (i) from equation (ii)

3(B + C) + 3B = 11C

⇒ 6B = 8C

⇒ B : C = 4 : 3 (ratio of efficiency)

From (ii), we get

A = 4 + 3 = 7

∴ A has maximum efficiency so he is the most skilful.
