Given:

Cost price of bike for Ekram = Rs. 4400

Formula:

Selling price = (Cost price/100) × (100 + profit%)

Cost price = Selling price × [100/(100 + profit%)

Calculation:

Cost price of the bike for Himanshu = 4400 × (100/110) = Rs. 4000

Cost price of the bike for Saurav = 4400 × (120/100) = Rs. 5280

Difference in the cost price of the bike for Himanshu and Saurav = Rs. 5280 – Rs. 4000 = Rs. 1280

Profit Percentage = (1280/4000) × 100 = 32%

∴ Profit percentage for Himanshu if he sold the bike to Saurav directly is 32%

Alternate solution:

Let the cost price of the bike for Himanshu be 100x

Cost price for Ekram = 100x + 10% of 100x = 110x

Cost price for Saurav = 110x + 20% of 110 = 132x

Profit percentage = 32x/100x = 32%

∴ Profit percentage for Himanshu if he sold the bike to saurav directly is 32%
