Given:

Rent on odd day = Rs. 1000

Rent on even day = Rs. 2000

Total amount = Rs. 30000

Calculation:

Total rent on one even and one odd day = Rs. (2000 + 1000) 

⇒ Total rent of one even and one odd day = Rs. 3000

⇒ Total rent paid in 2 days = Rs. 3000

⇒ Total rent paid in 2 × 10 days = Rs. 3000 × 10 = Rs. 30000

∴ Total duration for which room was rented is 20 days
