Formula Used∶

Concept of Linear Equations.

Calculation∶

Let 1 man's 1 day work = x and

1 woman's 1 day work = y 

Then, 2x + 4y = 1/6      (1)

x + 5y = 1/8                  (2)

Multiply eq.(2) by 2 and subtract the result from eq.(1), we get

6y = 1/12

⇒ y = 1/72

So, 8 females 1 day work = 8/72 = 1/9

∴ 8 females can finish the same task in 9 days.
