Given below are two quantities named A & B. Based on the given information, you have to determine the relation between the two quantities. You should use the given data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose between the possible answers. Quantity A: A milkman sells one - third quantity of milk what he has, at a profit of 6% and the remaining milk at a profit of 15%. What is the total profit percent for the milkman? Quantity B: A boat covers a distance of 13.5 km while upstream in 1.5 hours and while downstream it covers the same distance in 54 minutes. What is the speed of boat in km/h still water?

Given below are two quantities named A & B. Based on the given information, you have to determine the relation between the two quantities. You should use the given data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose between the possible answers. Quantity A: A milkman sells one - third quantity of milk what he has, at a profit of 6% and the remaining milk at a profit of 15%. What is the total profit percent for the milkman? Quantity B: A boat covers a distance of 13.5 km while upstream in 1.5 hours and while downstream it covers the same distance in 54 minutes. What is the speed of boat in km/h still water? Correct Answer Quantity A = Quantity B or No relation.

Let the quantity of milk that he has = a litres

⇒ Total profit = a/3 × 0.06 + 2a/3 × 0.15 = 0.02a + 0.1a = 0.12a

⇒ Profit percentage (%) = 12

Quantity B:

Let speed of boat in still water is ‘a’ km/h and speed of stream is ‘b’ km/h

From the statement;

⇒ 13.5/(a – b) = 1.5

⇒ a – b = 9

⇒ 13.5/(a + b) = 54/60

⇒ a + b = 15

⇒ a = 12 and b = 3

⇒ Speed of boat in still water in km/h = 12

∴ Quantity A = Quantity B
