Ratio of alcohol to water in ‘x’ = 3 : 2, Base = 5

Ratio of alcohol to water in ‘y’ = 7 : 4, Base = 11

Making their base equal,

X * 11 = 55, Y * 5 = 55

X = 33 : 22, Y = 35 : 20

Now, x & y are mixed in the ratio 18 : 11, ratio of alcohol to water will be,

(33 × 18 + 35 × 11) : (22 × 18 + 20 × 11) = 979 : 616

= 89 : 56

∴ Ratio of water to alcohol = 56 : 89
