Let the no. of Rs. 1, Rs. 2 and Rs. 5 coins in bag X be ‘6x’, ‘7x’ and ‘4x’ respectively
⇒ Total money in bag X = 6x + 14x + 20x = Rs. 40x
Let the no. of Rs. 1, Rs. 2 and Rs. 5 coins in bag Y be ‘9y’, ‘8y’ and ‘5y’ respectively
⇒ Total money in bag Y = 9y + 16y + 25y = Rs. 50y
∵ Ratio of total money in bags X & Y = 6∶ 5
⇒ 40x/50y = 6/5
⇒ x/y = 3/2 ----(1)
Now,
Total no. of coins in bags X = 51
⇒ No. of Rs. 1 coins in bag X = 6/17 × 51 = 18 = 6x
⇒ x = 3
Substituting in (1),
⇒ y = 2
Solving for Quantity A:
Quantity A = Difference between no. of Rs. 1 coins = 6x – 9y = 18 – 18 = 0
Solving for Quantity B:
Quantity A = Difference between no. of Rs. 2 coins = 7x – 8y = 21 – 16 = 5
Solving for Quantity C:
Quantity A = Difference between no. of Rs. 5 coins = 4x – 5y = 12 – 10 = 2
∴ Quantity A < Quantity B > Quantity C
