Given below are two quantities named A and B. Based on the given information, you have to determine the relation between the two quantities. You should use the given data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose from the possible answers. Quantity A: The population of a company was 20000 three years ago. It is increased by 5%, 10% and N% respectively in the last three years. If the present population of the company is 24948, then the value of N is: Quantity B: A trader purchased 70 quantities of similar bags at a rate of Rs. 275 each. He fixed the marked price of each bag at Rs. 330 and allowed a discount of 10% on the marked price. What is the percentage profit?

He fixed the marked price of each bag at Rs. 330 and allowed a discount of 10% on the marked price. What is the percentage profit? Correct Answer Quantity A = Quantity B or no relation
Quantity A:
Population of company = 20000
Population after three years = 24948
Then,
⇒ 24948 = 20000 × (1 + 5/100) × (1 + 10/100) × (1 + N/100)
⇒ 24948 = 20000 × 105/100 × 110/100 × (100 + N)/100
⇒ 100 + N = 108
⇒ N = 8
In the third year, population is increased by 8%.
Quantity B:
Cost price of 70 bags = 70 × 275 = Rs. 19250
Marked price of a bag = 330
Selling price of a bag = 330 – 330 × 10/100 = 297
Selling price of 70 bags = 70 × 297 = Rs. 20790
Profit percentage,
⇒ (20790 – 19250)/19250 × 100
⇒ 8%
Profit percentage = 8%
∴ From above, Quantity A = Quantity B is established.
