What is the state of matter formed by cooling a gas of extremely low density to Super low temperatures? Correct Answer Bose-Einstein Condensate
- Conventionally we are aware of three states of matter Solid, Liquid and Gas. But over the years scientists have been discussing two additional states of matter i.e. Plasma state and Bose-Einstein Condensate.
- Plasma is the state in which particles are in the Super energized and super excited state.
- Bose-Einstein condensate is formed when particles at low densities are cooled to super-low temperature like absolute zero (-273.5 degrees Celsius).
- This concept was first put by S N Bose and later developed by Albert Einstein and thus came to be known as Bose-Einstein condensate.
- In 2001 Eric Cornell, Carl E. Weiman, and Wolfgang were awarded the Nobel for achieving this state.
