Out of four consecutive odd numbers, the average of the smallest and the largest number is 28. The sum of smallest and the second smallest number is what per cent of the sum of largest and the second largest number? Correct Answer 86.67%

Let the four consecutive odd numbers are (x), (x + 2), (x + 4) and (x + 6) respectively.

According to the question∶

/2 = 28

⇒ (2x + 6)/2 = 28

⇒ 2x + 6 = 56

⇒ x = 25

So, the four consecutive odd numbers are 25, 27, 29 and 31 respectively.

Required percentage = × 100 = 86.67%
