In an office, 70% of the total number of employees are females. 80% of the total number of employees, including 35 males, got promotion. If there are 105 female employees, then what percentage of female employees got promotion?

In an office, 70% of the total number of employees are females. 80% of the total number of employees, including 35 males, got promotion. If there are 105 female employees, then what percentage of female employees got promotion? Correct Answer 80.95%

Let the total number of employees be x, then

Number of females employees = 105

x × 70/100 = 105                                    

x = 105 × (100/70) = 150

The total number of employees is 150.

Number of males employees = 150 – 105 = 45

Number of all employees who got promotion = 150 × (80/100) = 120

Number of males employees who got promotion = 35

Number of females employees who got promotion = 120 – 35 = 85

Percentage of females employees who got promotion = (85/105) × 100 = 80.95%
