Given that, length : breadth = 3 : 2

Let, the length of the rectangle be 3x and the breadth of the rectangle be 2x.

∴ The Area = 3xx 2x=6x2 and the perimeter = 2(3x+2x) = 10x.

Now, In 60 minutes the man covers 12km = 12000 meters.

∴ In 8 minutes the man covers 12km $= \frac{1200 \times 8}{60} = 1600 m e t e r s$

Now, we get, 10x = 1600

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{1600}{10} = 160$

$∴ A r e a o f t h e r e c \tan g l e = 6 x^{2} = (6 \times 160 \times 160) s q . m = 1, 53, 600 s q . m .$
