According to the question

4x+43x+4=97             [Since given that after four years their ages will be 9/7 ]

⇒ 28x + 28 = 27x + 36

=28x - 27x = 36 - 28

∴x = 8

So, their present ages are 32 and 24 respectively 

Again, suppose if they were married x years ago

Then,32-x24-x=53

= 96 - 3x = 120 - 5x

=5x - 3x = 120 - 96

=2x = 24

∴ x = 12

∴They were married 12 years ago
