The outlet that my computer's surge protector is plugged into was recently affected by lightening. I have no idea what lightning resistant surge protector to get now.

You stated that the outlet was affected. This means that the surge protector did its job and it is not the computer at fault. It sounds as though the outlet itself is damaged and you should have it checked by a professional.
