My 2001 Ford Expedition will not crank. I am using the original key that I have been using, and my mechanic says it won't turn over because the key is not communicating with the car computer. Any ideas?

Older Ford vehicles that utilize the "Pats" system are known to have this issue. The chip in the key is strong, but the antennas lose their strength. Begin by taking your key to a locksmith to have it scanned. If the locksmith is able to read the chip, the chip is good and is not the problem. Purchase a new antenna and plug it in. This should fix your issue.
