Get them started on a tick preventative immediately. To get rid of the ticks already attached, dip a Q-Tip in tea tree oil and hold the it against the tick's head and your dog's skin. It should emerge somewhat after about 10 seconds, so be prepared with a tweezers to pull the tick out completely.
