How do I clean/polish bronze? I tried the baking soda + lemon. It turned the bronze red. I bought Basso. The same result. Any other suggestions?

Is it possible that the item isn't actually made of bronze? You might want to seek out the opinion of a jeweler or other metal expert, especially if it's a high-value item.
