You can fake a pass, but it will hold up the game play. No one else will be able to play their cards if you're holding onto your own. For example, if you have the six of hearts, no one will be able to play a five of hearts or anything lower until you play. Depending on who you are playing with, they may make it a rule that you cannot fake a pass.
