I had a contractor lay down the sod. After about a month I fertilized with a pink fertilizer. It killed the sod; now I have dead brown grass. What should I do before trying to lay more sod?

Give it a year to take hold. Grass/sod can appear dead but come back. Watering the dead sod more could help. Be sure your area is appropriate for sod as well. You might be in too dry a climate for grass and/or sod.
