I would like my tumbled sea glass to be as close to the real thing as possible. Could I use coarse sand from the ocean floor and water from the ocean?

Coarse sand from the ocean floor can be used in a rock tumbler, but it's not recommended as a grit substitute. The sand particles may not produce enough abrasion to smooth the glass, which can lead to inadequate results.
