My puppy died a few months ago from a really traumatic dog bite. We now have an opportunity to get a new dog, we went to look at it the other day. I am conflicted about whether we should get a new puppy or not.

Only you can know when the appropriate time of mourning for your lost puppy has passed. Nevertheless, the joyful enthusiasm and liveliness of a new puppy could go a long way towards easing the pain of losing a pet. Hopefully you will be able to avoid fatal or traumatic attacks on your dogs in the future.
