My favorite way would be to open the waistband and dart through the waistband into the sides. But you're going to have to remove the fabric. So you're going to have to commit by trimming out that extra so that you don't have bulk around the waist. That'll give you a nice, clean, smooth waist. My other favorite, especially for jeans, chinos, or any type of garment that's got a lot of decorative topstitching, is that I will open up the box, the back center, and the waistband above it and take it in all through there. I like the way that it gives me a curve, a more human shape along the back. And I have the freedom to curve back out. And this works for men's, women's, children's, or any garment. I'll do that with all my jeans.
