My car is older, and the adhesive is hard and won’t come off with Goo Gone. I’ve also tried to heat it up and use Goo Gone, but no luck.

Try using a plastic razor and some WD-40, then finish off with a rag. It takes some elbow grease, but that method has worked to take off plasti-dip and the glue under the badging of my car.
