Sometimes it's hard to explain how badly you want to do something that you don't need to do. Instead of asking your mom if you can shave, ask her if she will help you learn how. Explain that other people are shaving and you want to learn how to do it, even you aren't sure that you need to yet. Chances are that she will understand and you can have a discussion about it.
