Generally, no, but it is always a good idea to check the stamp and postmark when considering a purchase. Sometime a rare or unusual stamp is found on a card which may be more valuable than the card itself. Postmarks can also be collected themselves. Postmarks from very small towns, railroads, shipboards, temporary post offices, or cancellations of rare or unusual design may be highly desirable.
