You can pretty much just let them munch on carrots. For the most part, they won't take a bite bigger than they know that they can chew. You can always cut up the carrots if you want to. If you're going to hand feed them, make sure you always keep your hands flat. That way they don't mistake your fingers for a carrot and accidentally bite you. You can also just put the carrots in a bucket and place that on the ground.
