Song writing is not a strict requirement of being a K-pop idol or trainee, and the company will likely write and decide on songs for you. However it is a skill that you should at least be familiar with since part of your training might be centered on song writing. Familiarize yourself with the concept of song writing and maybe practice writing a couple of your own or perfected other songs you hear. It doesn't have to be perfect, but at least get some experience.
