How should I start off my story about virtual reality?

If I were to write about virtual reality it would most likely start with something like, "She rubbed her eyes wearily, wondering if life would ever be to normal again." As the story is about virtual reality, she is rubbing her eyes as though they are sore from overuse. She is also wondering if life will ever be "normal" again, which could mean either that this story is about the future and how virtual reality affects her life, or that she simply wishes to go back to a different way of living. As the writer, you will have to determine what "normal" means to her.
