Reward your cat whenever it does something right to reinforce its good behavior. Avoid punishing it if it does something wrong since negative reinforcement doesn't work with cats. For example, if you want your cat to stop peeing outside of the litter box, don't punish it when it has an accident. Instead, give it a treat when it uses the litter box correctly.
