Start by blotting the stain with a clean, white microfiber cloth or towel to soak up any excess red wine. Then, blot the area again with a generous amount of cold water, which will dilute the stain. Finally, apply a thick paste of baking soda and water over the area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wipe away the paste, then vacuum the carpet until it's dry. Repeat if there's any stain left.
