Is it wrong if I push the clutch button when I shift from reverse to forward while operating a backhoe, and could it make the machine malfunction?

My backhoe has a forward and reverse lever on the steering column and it is not necessary to push the clutch button. Disengage the clutch when shifting gears and ramping up the RPM'S to operate the front bucket. Mine has a clutch button on the front bucket control lever and also on the 1-4 gear selector.
