Unfortunately, Kindle devices are not compatible with Overdrive outside of the US, and Overdrive had to negotiate for years to get Amazon to allow even that. If you haven't yet committed to buying a Paperwhite and want a device that will work with Overdrive, a Kobo or Nook is a good alternative.
