Why did I get a red card when I picked up the ball with my hands? I made it in the goal so I see no problem with that.

Time doesn't stop during a soccer match, so even if you score a goal the ball is considered to be in play. Infield players are not allowed to pick up the ball with their hands while it's in play—that's why you got a red card.
