You can brainstorm ideas on a sheet of paper (it helps to color-code the ones you like most). Then, take the idea you like most and write a few sentences about that topic. If you want your poem to rhyme, just change the last word of the sentences so they rhyme. If the sentence doesn't make sense, change the sentence so it says something similar.
