I convince people with the basic things that people take for granted: Do you want roads? Do you want clean air? Do you want your water to not be contaminated? Do you want your food to be checked for its safety? All of these things are government-run programs, where if we don’t have the right people in power who are going to continue to support these initiatives, what’s going to happen to our society? For the young kids, I get down to the basics in terms of persuading them. Do you want clean air, do you want clean water? I try to think about their basic human experience and connect that to policy. Do you want your student loans to be forgiven? The way you get somebody to register to vote is to persuade them based off of their individual interests, and tie that back to the collective.
