On an exterior mount, should the shade width extend to the edges outside of the molding, or should I leave the molding exposed?

The width of the shade on an exterior mount should extend past the edges of the molding by about 1-1/2" to 2" on each side. This is suggested for security as there is usually a gap on each side caused simply by the shade's being mounted "outside" of the window frame (molding). The extra material is supposed to prevent that gap that could allow someone to see inside.
